How lovely, a new MacBook.  I am also interested in the answer to your question
as I am trying to use OpenOffice and some of the others you mention.
OpenOffice will not let me use the database module because I am lacking some
software, but I can't remember what.  Oh yeah, Jave something or other.  Really
need a database package please.

Sorry I can't advise you on your predicament, but at least we have provided
those in the know with the necessary info to answer your question.

Here's hoping for the best,
Peter

What kind of computer does your aunt have?

When I set up my aunt, the banker's, computer, I put the office suite, IBM
Lotus Symphony, on it; I figured a she might feel comfortable with IBM. But
they have stopped supporting it. I am pondering what to replace it with. I
don't mind paying, but it should be easy (and read her old documents.)
NeoOffice? LibreOffice? M$? Suggestions?
