Don’t know what you mean Jonathan??? I took everything back apart, the ribbon is connected perfectly to the new drive, buttoned it up and the same thing..an internet connection where I guess the data is loaded? An everything is grayed out for the formatting with ONLY the two icons showing that I previously sent…
A: says “Disk0” B: says Mac OS X Base System Don’t know what else I can do, is either A or B the SSD part of the drive and the other the disk? I can’t format either. Hopefully Best Buy will have an enclosure for the drive to see if I can format from the desktop Mac… Man this is strange, I have put so many drives in and they are like taking your next breath…very simple, install, format, backup from TimeMachine or install new… Not sure where to turn next, I’ll see if Best buy can get me an enclosure and try that but if it does do I format BOTH or just the Disk0 or the Mac OS X Base system? Thanks so much, maybe all this is because it’s a hybrid drive? The drive has three sets of prongs, one long, two small. The ribbon is made for the long and the short next to it, the third set are not used..the same on the old drive, the third set was not used. I had wanted him to get a SSD drive but it was more expensive so we went with Fusion. Thanks for your suggestions.
