Harry, Usually for short rides around town I tip 2-3 bucks… If the ride is across town then 4-5… on average my tips are 3 bucks. But you get exceptions - had a guy tip me 20 for a 7 dollar ride to the airport. But he had a wife, a car seated child and 5 pieces of luggage.
It Is NOT Required at all. I don’t get upset if I don’t get a tip. Have a sign on the back of the front seat facing the back that says, “Tips are never expected but alway appreciated”. Best tippers: Food service workers. Rarely ever have one as a rider that doesn’t tip. Richard D.
