I purchased a Satechie USB hub, one that requires you to plug into an electrical outlet.
I plugged my iPhone into the hub and while it charges the iPhone, the iPhone doesn’t show up in iTunes for syncing unless I plug the iPhone directly into one of the Mac’s USB ports.
