At my office I had AT&T U-Verse, a paltry 26 meg down, 5 up…for $70.00 per month…they offered to go 100 meg down, 20 up for $40.00 a month…I had to think long and hard..
I purchased a new (outdated by modern router standards) Apple Airport Extreme to replace the much older Airport Extreme… While the Tech was setting the modem to Bridge mode (about a 15 step process with AT&T) I plugged in the newer Airport Extreme… The Airport Utility screen saw I had the older Extreme and popped open a graphic asking if I wanted to replace the older Airport with the new model… Yes…and shortly the new router was configured exactly as the old one….much like TimeMachine for our data…. Very easy, the Apple way.
