I'm running Sierra on my laptop and have a Western Digital external hard drive that is partitioned to use to back up 3 other computers with Time Machine. Each computer has a dedicated partition on the drive totaling 4 partitions - 3 for backups and one used for general file storage. This particular laptop is not one of the computers assigned a backup partition, but I do need to access files stored on the file storage partition. When I plug the drive up to my laptop all the partitions will mount, but as soon as I go to use them I get a message that they were unmounted and they disappear from my desktop. If I wait a few seconds they reappear, but then will unmount themselves and they continue this loop making it impossible to access anything on the drive most times. It works fine on my older laptop and other computers, so is this something with Sierra? Thanks in advance for any help!
