Harry, I saw this but didn’t feel adequate to answer other than to say 8 gig of RAM is WAY too little, especially if you can’t increase, per your note.
I know nothing of Illustrator but any video editing program is going to be a ram hog, I don’t see how it could function well with just 8 gig when the OS is going to consume a good portion of it. I would again suggest he check with TechRestore (the firm you put me onto) as they had several Apple Laptop’s for sale on their display floor.
