Ahhh, the Bean Counters once again put the pundits to shame… 1) Ever notice how horrible the latest and greatest of Apple products are not being accepted?
Any product…it’s curtains for Apple…. A firm that counts phone activations has a different story, I wanted to share.. 2) Also, I didn’t make myself clear when I mentioned that I had an Apple Store gift card sent to me via email…. I had said all I had to do was click on “Add To Wallet”, and there inside the iPhone the amount showed up…what I failed to mention was the “Add To Wallet” was from a MAC, not from the iPhone…BIG difference, so the Cloud had to figure out what Wallet to put the card…now that’s button popping I would say. 3) Finally, another plug for ApplePay… My wife and I were checking out from Meijer’s just before Christmas…..we happened to be in a line where the clerk was very customer friendly, quite personable….when the man in front of me put in his CHIP card to pay, the clerk thanked him and called him by his first name. When I began talking to her I ask if she knew everyone’s name that came through her line…she said no, it’s read from his Chip card and appears on her monitor….then when I paid she ask if I used ApplePay, Yes, She thought so said it’s the fastest payment system on the market…. And I said, and I bet you don’t know my name…she looked at her monitor and said, No, I don’t… Even with a Chip card information about us is stored by each firm we shop…why? There is no reason for them to have anything about me…what I buy, my address, etc. etc…. Using Apple is another way to protect our footprint in the digital world… Hope each of you have a fantastic year in 2018! Apple tops device activations during holidays, iPhone X handily beating iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus By AppleInsider Staff <mailto:[email protected]> Wednesday, December 27, 2017, 06:57 pm PT (09:57 pm ET) Apple once again leads the industry in smartphone and tablet activations during the week before Christmas, with very strong sales of the iPhone X leading the iPhones released in 2017, with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 availability both overseas and as used devices adding to the lead. The iPhone X hit 14.7 percent of all activations during the holiday season, according to a report published <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__flurrymobile.tumblr.com_post_168998333465_apple-2Dwins-2D2017-2Dsmartphone-2Dholiday-2Dseason&d=DwIFaQ&c=OAG1LQNACBDguGvBeNj18Swhr9TMTjS-x4O_KuapPgY&r=F2GFXrjLFqVo3VwvIlo_XYeEiRRjHv15rxcenz7A21woG2aFGcrzndoSsskxfmOs&m=NgqYpYTlRhMYqlUNdjQ5mu5rCfbdZD6REX9_p7Pd3wA&s=N8sjArTbFsaWcE-OcAomPu3rrJ-FRnrt5Uwpp9iw8Bw&e=> by Yahoo's Flurry Mobile. Fellow 2016 releases, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus came in at 8.1 percent and 8.7 percent respectively, leading to the new iPhone releases encompassing 31.5 percent of all activations. The iPhone 7 accounted for 15.1 percent of all iPhone activations, with the iPhone 6 hitting 14.9 percent. Flurry's data includes new and hand-me-down devices, resold used devices. Additionally, the prevalence of older models can be attributed to their affordability outside the U.S., Flurry noted. In some countries, like China and India, a new iPhone 8 or iPhone X can be prohibitively expensive, sometimes costing as much or more than someone's monthly salary. "The prominence of the iPhone 6 is particularly interesting, as Apple only relaunched that model to resellers in select international markets in the spring of 2017 <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__appleinsider.com_articles_17_03_06_amazon-2Dbegins-2Dselling-2Diphone-2D6-2Dwith-2D32gb-2Dstorage-2Din-2Dindia&d=DwIFaQ&c=OAG1LQNACBDguGvBeNj18Swhr9TMTjS-x4O_KuapPgY&r=F2GFXrjLFqVo3VwvIlo_XYeEiRRjHv15rxcenz7A21woG2aFGcrzndoSsskxfmOs&m=NgqYpYTlRhMYqlUNdjQ5mu5rCfbdZD6REX9_p7Pd3wA&s=78h1Bnp0wkyB7QtoCE1meaJ4Pv8rt8FyaxxS7K3oXj8&e=>," the report said. "It's apparent that the consumer concern for cost is still significant, as the iPhone 6 is often marketed as the most affordable option in the regions where it is available." As with 2016, Apple claimed 44 percent of combined global phone and tablet activations during the week. Chief rival Samsung rose 5 points to 26 percent, keeping smaller rivals like Vivo at bay. Google's Pixel phones <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__appleinsider.com_articles_17_10_04_googles-2D649-2D5-2Dpixel-2D2-2D849-2D6-2Dpixel-2D2-2Dxl-2Dsmartphones-2Dwant-2Dto-2Dbe-2Dyour-2Dmain-2Dsqueeze-2Dwithout-2Da-2Dheadphone-2Djack&d=DwIFaQ&c=OAG1LQNACBDguGvBeNj18Swhr9TMTjS-x4O_KuapPgY&r=F2GFXrjLFqVo3VwvIlo_XYeEiRRjHv15rxcenz7A21woG2aFGcrzndoSsskxfmOs&m=NgqYpYTlRhMYqlUNdjQ5mu5rCfbdZD6REX9_p7Pd3wA&s=ra12FdX-jLHW5ZDvBFkGNOiMNB0bWhmiPNssFNbfgFc&e=> failed to make a dent on the worldwide level. This is because there are only four models so far, and they haven't captured much "consumer mindshare," Flurry suggested. Flurry notes that it measures smart device activations through more than one million mobile apps that use the analytics service that the company provides.
