Caution - External Email Message
So it seems to me the only way to record to a Mac would be to use Quicktime, or
some other program, to record as the program plays….

To record an entire day of CNBC would most likely choke due to size….to pick
various segments I would have to use Automator to logon, record and then logoff
when the program completed, to then repeat later in the day when the next
segment of importance is viewed.

This would have to be done through CNBC via the Internet rather than through TV
since CNBC is Cable and will not be available on Antenna TV…a fee charged.
Trying to do this through TV is just not doable.

Is this reasonable?

Next question.

Is there software that will take a video and translate the recording to text?
Then the text is searchable for just those items I’m looking for. Any
suggestions on this product?

Thanks again for all your help.

John

Ed, looked at the Spectrum app, it only allows viewing on a mobile device, I
saw nothing about recording. All the reviews displayed were 1 star, looks like
they have a lot of work to do.

Not that I have ever found. Each file has a content flag set on it causing the
content not to be removed.
I found this out with my TiVo which you can download shows to a computer. But
so channels had the flags and did not allow downloads
Get a TiVo with a cable card and ditch the spectrum box. Or subscribe to the
new spectrum app for 15 bucks. 😀

We have a Spectrum box that is going bad, not a big deal they will give us a
new one.

However there are many recordings on the hard drive that will be lost…

Is there any way to save these off the Spectrum box?

If not, is there a way to play each video and record the video as it plays?

Thanks for any suggestions.

John
