The USER_COMMAND in your ini file will have the same effect as using
(AXIS, hide) at the top of your gcode file
but try that as well

Does it work with a smaller gcode file?
The bottom line unfortunately is that Axis was never intended for huge
slicer generated gcode files for plastic squirting, whilst running on a
very limited ARM board.
If you run tklinux or one of the non preview GUIs that should work, so
will splitting your file down to manageable sections.
Or heaven forbid, using a proper computer:-P
