Since I am new to this Google Groups stuff & Linux based hardware here is
a little bit of information about myself so people know that I i'm not a
short bus I've been building computers & Networks plus tons of other
electronic fields for 30 years 15 years ago I used to code windows software
& also it's been 15 years since I left Linux I've used
dsl,Ubuntu,Slackware, deb, mint, backtrack,Kali,Red Hat, etc I know that I am
out of date when it comes to using Linux I have also been doing CNC Plasma
cutting for the past 6 years 5 of them years the place I worked for their
table used CandCNC hardware with Mach 3 which I love a lot.. I got to the
point after 6 months I did all the maintenance & repairs for their table
after 5 years I quit. Last year as I was looking to buy a table I am way to
inpatient to browse & order & wait for all parts to arrive to build my own
so I found a new table I liked so i contacted JD Squared a year ago was
told the 4x4 table I bought will run mach 3 if i dislike their table
software was told their hardware they make in house well none of it was
true My hardware is machinekit with all the dlls etc. Well I hate their
limited software I believe it's GUI pulled over linuxcnc or EMC2 but my
reasoning for being here is the controllers etc have spiffy boxes built
around them to cover the PCB board with there logo on it like they in
housed them. I would like to know if anyone can tell me the easiest & best
way to identify which hardware I have in my control box. I've asked them to
many times to get the same bs answer so I took 7zip and extracted
their madgui3-3.1.3-full.nupkg to find out the Pc has windows 10 Pro with
their interrupter MAD GUI V3 that connects using V-host to the linux
distro Deb. Then not having the users name nor pass to deb is there a way
of changing it or do I have to redo it in order to have the password Id
rather use ubuntu but with my luck i am stuck like chuck swimming in the
water drowning unlike a duck.. I have been reading bits here and there
about Hal & the way this hardware works. Once this is figured out mad gui
will be trashed because personally it's limited on what you can do. I will
move to linuxcnc or find something close to mach 3 any information
directing me in the right direction would be so appreciate. Thanks for your
time..;)
