Hi Sorry if my message as nothing to do here, but recently i have replaced the BBB with RPI4 and Mesa ethernet 7i96/7i76e + 7i83 and this is like "night & day" (not only GUI, start very fast, compiling very fast, CNC stuff from Linuxcnc master)
The BBB is not a very good choice for using HDMI for GUI, he is good for PRU and remote interface but all available remote interface seems to be be too much complicated for enhancement and not fully usable at this stage (for some baby coder like me) At this topic starting point i see BB AI, i have one at home but the driver need to be done and i'm not able to do this, but i'm pretty sure the BB AI can be a really good choice ! (excepted for CNC stuff from Linuxcnc master) My suggest is forgot these pretty old BBB slow and not good for GUI and start working with BB AI Ps : Mesa HW quality allow me to remove many things like 2x scale offset and from my spindle config So for Seeed i suggest to you to integrating some spindle control (digital potentiometer/rs485/PWM) without forgetting the spindle drive that need +-10v signal (controler with output +15 -15 for potentiometer) and offset to 0 if watchdog fail...
