ClearType is also an option in Windows XP, it does an INCREDIBLE job.
Don't worry, we've noticed. The problem is that the real benefits are
only available to people who LCD displays with vertically striped pixels
(that's the most common type).

Subject: IE and SubPixel Rendering....

Any chance for a future version of IE to provide support for
SubPixel-Rendering?

http://grc.com/ctwhat.htm

Adobe calls it 'cooltype', and Microsoft has their own name for the same
process, but it makes text infinitely better readable on an LCD screen -
Adobe Acrobat 5 Reader supports it (you must manually configure it in
the
preferences), and the difference in reading text at small type is
dramatic.

This could be a boon for IE page rendering as well (and my question
refers
to an OS 9 version as much as an OS X version, with more emphasis on the
OS
9 version).
