Thinking about this, this 'problem' can probably best be addressed either in
a manner similar to the way Adobe does it in their Acrobat
preferences/configuration, or by figuring out a nifty way to 'know' what
kind of system you're runninng on, and applying the appropriate
configurations (while still offering a means to over-ride by the user).
As long as Apple hardware, or common displays are used (like SONY) this
should be easy to just maintain a database of configurations based on what
the Gestalt Manager returns, I'd figure...
But, yes, I agree, there are physical limits imposed by the technology, but
when it works, it does an incredible job.
(BTW, I wonder if this will also apply to OLED displays, once they become
prevalent - if they are based on the same adjacent pixel technology, it
*should* work).
