Thanks to ALL of you for the suggestions and valuable
information. I truly appreciate it
I'm running Windows 98SE, and have had to reinstall
it a number of times to clear up problems.
However, this time I'm not able to shut down from the
start" button/menu. When I attempt to, it hangs
and gives a blue screen with the error message that a
fatal error OD has occured. etc.etc. and I'm forced
to shut down manually,
I agree with your assessment of Windows 98 etc. and
plan to get a newer system if possible. This is only a
Pentium 2 at 266 mh. Compare to the
latest running at 2.4 gigs. No comparison.
And NO Cameron, I'm not on high speed internet.
It's supposed to be coming to this area sometime soon.
In the meantime, I'm stuck with connecting to an ISP
through a 33.6 K modem and dialup connection.
If I'm lucky, I can sometimes reach the blazing
download speed of 3.8kb/sec. Ugh.!
But, since I'm retired, I can really afford to spend
the extra time downloading if that is possible. That is, if
I knew where to go for the info. ha. Any
suggestions??????
Thanks again. Donnie.
