Yeah, but I don't think the feature is still applicable because you are
sending AppleTalk network signals inside TCP/IP networking packets. So to
the switch, all it sees if TCP/IP network protocols going on and no
AppleTalk. If you need to connect to a Mac running AppleShare IP, just use
good old AppleShare from the chooser over AppleTalk. I don't see why you
need to jump to TCP/IP networking when you can just use native AppleTalk
between two systems. I understand TCP/IP is the only option between OS X and
9 and other UNIX/LINUX systems.

If you have a network that is big enough to have several machines running
LINUX/UNIX, Mac OS, and maybe windows, you should look into getting a server
setup with the latest version of Mac OS X Server. The new OS X Server can
do the native networking protocols for almost any OS. To Mac computers it is
an AppleShare server over AppleTalk. To UNIX boxes, it is a TelNet Server,
and to Windows, it is a NT Server. I know a lot of places that are looking
into Mac OS X Server for networks primarily running something other than the
Mac OS on their client systems. OS X Server has really broken down the
barriers. It can do 3 Server OSes in one, with a rock solid UNIX foundation
with Mac ease-of-use. I would sure trust OS X Server to a Wintel network
more than an NT box.
