On the subject of routers, and cable modems... I have a cable modem hookup using DHCP and I'm using a MacSense XRouter Pro. It's excellent. I have 4 computers on all the time. One is the webserver. (An old 5200). One is a fun Linux box (old 7200 with LinuxPPC) and a couple of other PowerMacs acting as servers of some kind or another. The router is great for setting up a private LAN behind your one dynamic IP. Your router has the dynamic IP and 192.168.1.1, and your computers have 192.168.1.2 etc fun fun fun :) -- Mat X ************************************************** Webmaster, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design ************************************************** [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MacNetwork is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
