You can run IPNetRouter on the PB 540. Downlaod it from www.sustworks.com
(it's $89 or half that if you can prove educational affiliation). The 68k
version requires system 7.5.3 minimum.

Localtalk Bridge (I assume you were referring to this control panel) handles
print and file sharing trasmission, but it can't pass TCP/IP packets. When
you use Localtalk Bridge, you're still using Appletalk either way. Internet
access requires TCP/IP instead.
