I can't get my two Macs to talk to each other via ethernet. I have a
d-link switch. The lights come on on the switch when I plug the cables
in. I have checked the cables with a tester, they check out OK.
They will talk via tcp/ip, but that is through an ISP at 38667 bps,
which is slower than localtalk.
AppleTalk is active on both machines. Nothing shows up in the chooser of
either machine.
I had a post very similar to this earlier. Obviously I haven't gotten
anywhere.
A friend of mine brought over his macsense hub which didn't make any
difference.
What am I not seeing here? No pun intended!
