My understanding is that OT 2.1 is the first OT to
handle DHCP Client ID, which is what I need.

My next move will be to call Apple's 1-800 number and
listen to them regretfully and bemusedly explain that time
has passed OS 7.x by.

Reading a parallel thread on the list concerning
IPNetrouter and MacIP makes me think that I misunderstood an
earlier post about using one of the computers as a gateway
for the others. I'm no techno wit but I'm thinking "is it
possible to use one of the Powermacs running 8.6, together
with IPNetrouter, as a router, to connect a 68k machine
running 7.x (without DHCP) to the net? Regards, John.
