most disturbing, it takes 15 minutes with a 40 bit key, less than an hour even with 
128 bit key. 
simce it's the clipper chip and des all over again, industry blindly adopting what the 
government
suggest for not really secret data.  it seems likely any wlan encryption will be weak, 
because
that's what the nsa and others want, and corporate giants rarely fight the government 
(much less
government spooks waiving the red flag of national security).  honestly, "wired 
equivalent security"
is just more industry hype, given current computer speeds i wouldn't expect many 
cyphers to last
long.  on the other hand, if you really don't care who sees your data it's a great 
solution.  also
disturbing is that the latest attack is passive, i.e. the attacker can just listen to 
your data
without sending any until they've seen enough, then they can read anything they want 
or spoof one of
your machines which makes firewalls worthless.
