according to LowEndMac the 630 uses a LC PDS slot
check out: http://lowendmac.com/quadra/q630.shtml I have a few similar machines and i can verify that ethernet cards do exist for these models and the cards work on mixed networks you can definitely share the bandwidth that the IBM laptop is feeding on if you do indeed have a high speed modem and a router (and empty ports). I do this with my cable modem and macsense xrouter pro (router) and a mix of PCs, macs and unix boxen... i use static IPs.
