according to LowEndMac the 630 uses a LC PDS slot

I have a few similar machines and i can verify that ethernet cards do
exist for these models and the cards work on mixed networks

you can definitely share the bandwidth that the IBM laptop is feeding
on if you do indeed have a high speed modem and a router (and empty
ports).

I do this with my cable modem and macsense xrouter pro (router) and a
mix of PCs, macs and unix boxen...

i use static IPs. (assgining IP addresses to the machines myself) but
you could also set up DHCP to dynamically assign addresses (from the
Router), but check out the settings on the IBM and see how it is
configured and make a decision based on this perhaps...

it's all very doable... not sure if you have to install open transport
on the sys 7.5 machine or what...
