Hi all
Kinda new to this list
I've been a Mac user for 2 years.
I have a home network set up for over a year.
I have Dsl modem connected to Linksys 1 port router.
Then uplinked to a 5 port switch and uplinked to
another 5 port switch that has 2 5 port hub's off of it.
The Linksys is set up for DHCP.
anyway the network is working fine.

I know a similar setup has been recently been discussed.
But I'm trying to set up a web server from my G4 QuickSilver.
The webserver is set up and running just fine I can access it from an
internal address.
I have set up port forwarding port 80 for the QS. but can not access
from outside address.
Now the Linksys book say's to use port forwarding I must manually assign
address.
So it won't work with DHCP Ok so I disabled the DHCP on the router and
then put in address on the computers
and rebooted and I then lose internet access but can still access the
router.
Am I missing something here or does it have to be done in certain steps?
I've always had the router set up for DHCP so I have no experience
setting up with manually assigned address.
Please Help
Thank's
Lou
Oh the network has 8 Mac's, 5 Windows pc's, and 1 pc w/Linux
