I still can't punch though my DSL modem with my dynamic IP address and land my web page. I think the Linksys is set up correctly. I am working with the idea that my Cisco DSL modem will not let web traffic pass though it. But I could be totally wrong about this.
Talking to the DSL first tier tech support guy at work today (I work for Qwest), he had no answers to my Web dilemma. I am going to contact the second tier guy tomorrow. I have spent the last 2 hours at Cisco's web site looking up the documentation for software load to my Cisco modem. I have a 675 Cisco and the latest CBOS (Cisco Broadband Software) load called 2.4.3 <http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/dsl_prod/c600s/cbos/cbos243/cbo243.htm> I have the full docs for CBOS 2.0.0. And using that I tried to enable my web port. I have done that, and then set the port to 80. Then I tried setting the web server IP address to 192.168.1.101 which I did. The docs are not clear. If I am understanding them correctly, I am suppose to: 1) Enable web server settings 2) Assign a port address 3)Assign a IP address of a web server I think I have done that correctly. But, I am still dead. But when i telnet into the modem, I see a whole bunch of stuff I don't understand like NAT set up. What worries me is that when i read the Cisco manual, I get the idea that the "web" settings in this 675 are for a web interface for configuring and changing the modem setting (and has nothing to do with me running a web server) I am going to read the manual tonight and see if I can come up with anything.
