Hi! I'm a first time networker and found my way here in hopes of enlightenment. I've got two beige Macs - a G3MT and a G3upgraded 7600 - and a Stylewriter 4100 that I want to use as a small home network.
I've looked at the Three Macs and a Printer website, and with that info have figured out how to get the two computers sharing files via ethernet (using a crossover cable). I have hooked up the printer to the 7600 (running 8.6) with local talk connectors. I have the correct printer drivers installed on both machines. I can print documents from the MT by opening them on the 7600. So far so good. But what I'd like to do is get the MT (which is running 9.1) to see the Stylewriter so I can print directly from the MT. Can it be done? I've installed Local Talk Bridge on the 7600, but apparently I don't know how to set up the connection properly. Anyone here have the patience to step-by-step me through the connections? I have this feeling I'm missing something pretty simple.... Thanks!
