Hello:

The Washington Post has a comparative report on five IEEE 802.11a systems by
NetGear, Proxim Harmony, D-link, SMC, and Linksys. Testing was done by
Government Computer News for the office environement. Primary criterion was
speed at various distances up to 80 feet. Linksys came in last, not being
effective beyond 20 feet. Security was another criterion.

The hardcopy, if you can get it, has a nice table which I did not see at the
web page.

The article is also at: http://www.gcn.com/22_1/prod_reviews/20820-1.html

And there is a link to a forum dated Jan 16.
