I am looking for some advice on setting up a network. Haven't done any networking since the salad days of Appletalk. I have an 8600 hooked up to a cable modem thru the ethernet port. Just bought a G4, and would like to:
1. Share the broadband connection with the 8600. 2. File-share between the two Macs. I have looked at threemacsandaprinter and a few other sites. I understand that I can use a broadband router to share the web connection, but does that hardware also allow file-sharing between the two Macs? Or do I need to do someting else for that? Wireless is not a good option for me at the moment, or I would go that way. Any advice or pointers to sites to check out are welcome.
