So do you have anything that's broadcasting a signal that the Windows laptop can pickup? I'm thinking you need to either add a wireless card to the iMac and set it up to act as a base station or you might be able to buy simply a wireless access point to connect to the iMac. Ideally you should probably get a wireless router that supports an external modem. From the sound of your current setup, I don't think your PC is going to be able to connect wireless. Perhaps wired if you have a mini hub.
