Here is my scenario. DSL connection, DSL modem followed by a d-link
614+ router(wired and wireless) then I have a FP iMac(wired)
Pismo(wireless) and other pcs. My question is, how can I enable web
hosting on the FP. I have tried everything. Set up port forwarding
(called virtual server by the d-link), I set this up to go to the IP of
the iMac. I then tried setting it as a DMZ. I also ventured to the
modem, I found IP passthrough settings and set it to the IP of the
router. I then tried to set the modem with a static NAT to the IP of
the router. I have enabled the personal web sharing of OS X. Nothing
seems to be working. Please help!!!!
Have you tried without the router, just with the computer hooked straight to
the DSL modem? I'm not suggesting it as a permanent solution, just as a way
to see if the problem lies in router settings or somewhere else.
Many ISPs have a rule against running web servers from their service, could
they be blocking it somehow?
