Arescom DSL modem Linksys wireless router (BEFW11S4) PB G4 Tibook (wireless) PB G3 Lombard (wired, wireless soon) Epson SC600 printer (parallel-to-USB, gimp-print, into Lombard's USB port)
The PBooks run 10.2.6
Because I am getting a wireless card for the G3, I want to put the sc600 on a print server, so both PBooks can access it without plugging in. I have a Dayna Etherprint-3 box, but I don't know if it can be used with my system.
The back of the Etherprint has, L to R: 8-pin (Appletalk?) port 2 dip switches Ethernet port 15-pin (serial?) port some round port power
The sc600 has parallel and Appletalk ports.
Any experienced Etherprint users out there? Or willing to make an educated guess? I tried following the pieces of Dayna documentation I could find out there and using Classic, but it isn't working. Whenever I plug the sc600 into the Etherprint, the printer's light starts flashing and the printer intermittently prints garbage (without a print job ever being sent out).
I'm guessing I need to (1) configure the Etherprint and then (2) hook up the printer. But I am guessing! Any help welcome. I can mail an image of the Etherprint ports if would be useful.
Erik
