If I use an eMac as a base station, will I be able to get 3 other Macs on the network via ethernet (I know, I'll need a hub.)? Will they all be able to go online that way, even though it's dial-up (speed issues noted)? In other words, if my G4 is home, and my 7600 is next door (I'm pretty sure it's within range--still need to double-check.), can I use the 7600 to dial-up via the G4 & airport (no broadband available here in rural Iowa)? I don't want to keep the G4 dialed-up 24/7. Understand my question?
What are the pros/cons of using the eMac as an AirPort base station instead of a dedicated one? I need a 3rd party Airport card for my 7600. Any recommendations/caveats?
