I advised someone to get an omni directional antenna and he has had a good
experience. Works great.
He has a custom built ranch-style house (with thick walls and floors) in the
US, and his problem was range of signal as well. He bought that omni
antenna and went from 1 bar in his menu bar, to 4 bars...full signal. It is
new construction with a large basement as well. At the far end of his
basement he has a home office...and the signal is fine there as well with
the antenna attached. It was practically nothing without it. He thought of
bridging but after we talked, he decided to go with the antenna.

They say they will extend that range roughly to 350 feet or so...at least on
the Dr. Bott ones which a bit more cost wise than the ones you mentioned.
There are several antennas on the market, the Bott ones work fine, others I
heard do so too.
