No, it is two different products. I actually forgot about the one you
pointed out until I saw your earlier post with it.
Apple had a free product that worked only with printers. They had a for
sale product that worked with all Localtalk devices (printers, network,
whatever). From the looks of your link to version tracker, Apple has
simply (and not surprisingly given the age), changed their commercial
product into a free product as well.
Yes, the one you linked to will work with all localtalk devices, so that
would be the OPs best bet.
Correct, Apple LaserWriter Bridge was a freebie that was for LWs
only. And they sold Apple LocalTalk Bridge. The two are basically
the same but Apple LWB only passes PostScript printer packets. And
yes, LTB is now available for free.
To the OP, this software will pass AppleTalk but it won't do anything
with IP. It will however pass MacIP packets which are IP packets
wrapped in an AppleTalk packet. But to use this you will need an IP
router.
