Doesn't matter. Tiger works fine with AppleTalk-only LaserWriters.
AppleTalk was NOT removed from Tiger. The Tiger change is that AppleShare
file sharing can only find servers using AppleTalk; to actually share
files the server must support AppleShare/IP.

Possible solutions are built-in filesharing in MacOS 9, the ShareWay/IP
product, the discontinued AppleShare/IP versions 5 and 6, and Netatalk in
Linux and possibly other Unix variants. For a small Mac network, just use
any MacOS 9 computer as a server for everybody. For a mixed network, try
OS X Panther or Jaguar as the server, or Linux running both Netatalk and
Samba.

As for the Color StyleWriter 1500, I don't think anyone has come up with
a way to use those with any version of OS X.
