Doesn't matter. Tiger works fine with AppleTalk-only LaserWriters. AppleTalk was NOT removed from Tiger. The Tiger change is that AppleShare file sharing can only find servers using AppleTalk; to actually share files the server must support AppleShare/IP. Possible solutions are built-in filesharing in MacOS 9, the ShareWay/IP product, the discontinued AppleShare/IP versions 5 and 6, and Netatalk in Linux and possibly other Unix variants. For a small Mac network, just use any MacOS 9 computer as a server for everybody. For a mixed network, try OS X Panther or Jaguar as the server, or Linux running both Netatalk and Samba.
