X-bytes: Updated browsers, widgets and more widgets

A regular pot pouri of X-compatible releases and updates for your Mac
� iCab, the alternative Web browser for OS 7 through Mac OS X, has has been updated to
v2.8. A Cookie Manager, Filter Manager, Java support under Mac OS X, and more have
been added in this version. Commerical (US$29) and freeware versions available.
� OmniWeb 4.1 is currently available as a public beta and a final release is expected
by the end of the week. V4.1 brings a number of usabillity enhancements to the
Cocoa-based browser, including improved support for web standards.
� Netscape MRJ plugin X 1.0 enables Java under X for Mozilla/Netscape 6.x browsers.
This latest iteration fixes a problem with mouse click consumption and will be the
version that ships in upcoming releases of Mozilla for X.
� Smith Micro has updated its X-compatible FAXstf X fax application to v10.04. This
patch includes fixes for several bugs and introduces new features to the app,
including better call termination, modem port compatibility, improved time/date stamp
display, etc.
� SkyTag''s FileBuddy -- long a users'' favorite -- update has been updated to v7.1.
This file/folder editing utility (Classic, X-compatible) is available for US$49.95 and
upgrades from v.5/6 are US$20. If you''re not familiar with this software, take the
time to read up on it.
� Unsanity, which created this utility because ''they were sick of Dock-hogging CPU
monitors,'' has released Cee Pee You 1.1, a Menu Bar extra that displays CPU load
under Mac OS X. This software is freeware.
