Roxio to Feature Toast-With-Jam at MacWorld
By Remy Davison, Insanely Great Mac
July 9th 2002
Jam with Roxio at MWNY
Roxio will be making its Toast-With-Jam 5.0 suite a feature of the MacWorld New York
trade show floor, according to
MacWorld UK.
Following a considerable development period, Roxio announced Toast-with-Jam at MWNY
2001, and shipped the full product not long afterwards. Jam is now integrated with
Toast, instead of a discrete application.
Orange Book mastering (the standard for mastering audio CDs) is the most important
feature of Jam - it burns only audio CDs. At MWNY 2002, Roxio will be demoing Jam''s
feature set, including cross-fades, equalizing and normalization.
Jam also ships with Peak LE, Bias Inc''s premiere two-track audio-editing application,
which, in version 3.0, works with both OS 9 and OS X. Peak LE supports the full range
of VST audio plug-ins, of which there are hundreds.
Roxio will show musicians and audio editors how to edit and mix their tracks, before
sending audio to Jam for finalization before the full Toast audio CD burn.
Look for a review of Jam 5.0 here at IGM in coming weeks.
Analysis: If nothing else, Apple''s purchase of eMagic recently is going to make the
Mac audio market extremely interesting.
