RealOne beta for X available
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
July 17th 2002
It seems the end of the year is already here
RealNetworks has announced that a beta of its top-of-the-line RealOne player is now
available for Mac OS X. Previously, the company had said that RealOne would not be
available until the end of the year.
Real states that the current build of the RealOne Player for Mac OS X "only includes
basic player features and may have some compatibility issues." The download doesn''t
include a "Read Me" and the issues alluded aren''t mentioned in "Help" either.
Of the dozen stations I tried, only one played -- OzWorld.com.au. And, it stopped
playing after about 30 seconds. I had to restart it manually and then it played
normally for another 30 seconds.
Also, at least one-third of the links on Real''s radio tuner page I''ve tried report
"the link you''ve request has expired" (or some variation thereof).
You can download the RealOne player here -- registration required.
Good luck!
