There''s no better way to greet Jaguar than to stay up and cavort (publicly) with
other Mac heads
IGM readers continue to write in with details about Jaguar launch celebrations. This
time around we have details on events in Albany, NY and Atlanta.
To celebrate the release of Apple''s revolutionary new UNIX based operating system,
Albany, NY''s Castle Computers will be running a "Mac OS 10.2 Midnight Madness Sale"
that will kick off at 9:45pm with a "Mac OS X: Getting To Know You" seminar event.
According to a release sent to us by Castle''s Jason Pierce, Mac OS 10.2 will go on
sale at 10:20pm and that reseller has plenty of stock of the new operating system on
hand. Also, the first 50 customers who purchase Jaguar will receive a free Mac OS X
mouse pad.
Castle Computers will be offering refreshments during the event and the plans on
remaining open until at least midnight. The store will offer special promotions and
sales on Mac OS X related products.
One Pete Zimowski, who refers to himself as a "Mac Fanatic to the Infinite Power,"
writes to say that the Apple Store in the Lenox Square Mall has posted a "big sign"
and lots of flyers announcing that they will open at 10:20 PM on the evening of the
23rd for a big Jaguar rally. According to Zimowski, an unspecified Mac will be given
away as well as other Apple and third-party products.
