Bare Feats: New PowerMacs no faster

There''s something fishy going on here for which there must be a reasonable explanation
Bare Feats has posted a side-by-side benchmark comparison of an original dual-1GHz
PowerMac, dual-1GHz Xserve and just-released dual-1GHz DDR PowerMac that purports
there''s literally no difference in performance between the three computers.
"To my surprise and chagrin, the new DDR Power Mac has no apparent performance
advantage [emphasis included from original] over the old SDRAM Power Mac running at
the same clock speed," stated rob-ART morgan, the report''s author. "The 25% faster
system bus seems of no help, either. Depressing. Scandalous!"
Ouch and double ouch!
That testing of the dual-1GHz DDR PowerMac was performed remotely seems the only
apparent wrinkle in Bare Feat''s simple and low-tech testing methods. That somehow
"Greg" -- the gentlemen who performed the benchmarks on his brand-spanking-new DDR
PowerMac -- weren''t done to standard doesn''t seem particularly likely given the
simplicity of the methods used.
What could account for this? Did we really wait a half year for nothing?
Aside from errors of incompetence by either Apple (one bad box perhaps?) or Bare
Feat''s testers, can any of you offer a reasonable explanation for the depressing
performance results posted for the "new" dual-1GHz DDR PowerMac?
