Jaguar ''sells out'' in the UK

Apple is on a roll as the good news pours in
Macworld UK reports that resellers have either sold all of their stock of Jaguar or
have been unable to get any stock at all.
Yesterday, we reported announced that more than 100,000 copies of 10.2 were sold
worldwide during its first weekend, setting a new record for Mac OS sales in a single
weekend.
Julian Bird, director of London-based MR Systems, told Macworld UK that "I''ve never
seen a Mac OS selling so quick. Our weekend sales of the upgrade out-stripped those of
OS X on its March 24 debut last year. We''ve found that companies are more keen to buy
than end-users."
Authorized resellers and more general retailers, like department stores, all report
brisk X.2 sales. One reseller who wished to remain anonymous said that that 250 copies
of Jaguar had been sold over the weekend and that 500 additional copies are expected
by Friday.
One reseller who wished to remain anonymous said "It seems to be the sort of the thing
that Mac owners do. When OS X was launched there was a launch party, and people were
queuing all night. Mac users seem to be a really keen bunch."
Analysis: A keen bunch indeed! Heavy pre-launch whinging and moaning, some by yours
truly, hasn''t deterred the Mac faithful from turning out in large numbers to buy OS
X.2.
It''s also interesting to note that, at least in London, that business interest in
Jaguar is very strong, which is likely due to Jaguar''s better than X.1 performance
and superior to Classic stability.
