As Jaguar''s beauty unfolds... uh... there''s still lots of updating to do
Jaguar''s fur-spangled release was the well-orchestrated prelude to a deluge of
third-party related updates. Aside from a handful of prominent exceptions -- Dave
(beta 4 released, but unavailable), Retrospect, etc. -- vendors have been quite timely
in getting fixes out. Here''s our latest list of updates:
� Adobe has posted GoLive 6.0.1 update, which resolves more than 100 issues. GoLive
6.0.1 improves performance when handling large sites, improves application stability
and resolves memory leak situations. A demo is available . This update isn''t specific
to X.2.
� Stone Design has released updates of all seven applications in its flagship graphic
design suite, Stone Studio. The new versions provide X.2 compatibility, as well as
other enhancements. Stone Studio sells for US$299 and purchasers receive "updates for
life."
� HTMLColorPickerX 1.1 brings the app up-to-date with Jaguar and provides improved
support for Cocoa and most Carbon applications. This sells for $10 and a demo is
available.
� NavBar Builder 1.6 provides X.2 compatibility. This app provides an easy way to
create a whole website complete with javascript rollover navigation bars. NavBar
Builder is shareware and sells for $15.
� CD Session Burner is a multi-session, drag and drop tool for use with the CD-RWs
built into Macs. This tool allows for incremental back-ups -- a function Apple''s disk
burner notably lacks.
� Metrowerks has released an updated version of CodeWarrior Pro that is Jaguar
compatible. This maintenance release updates MSL, Debugger, Java RAD, support folders,
Stationery, Targeting Mac OS documentation, etc..
� FAXstf X 10.0.8 brings X.2 compatibility to�Smith Micro''s benchmark fax
application. This update is only intended for Jaguar users.
� Dr Bott has announced Mac OS X support for its USB ProScope. Finalized X-compatible,
including Jaguar, drivers are available from the ProScope website and will ship with
all new ProScope from next week. The ProScope is priced at US$229.
