Mac Business Expo to rock Seattle Oct 3

With an Apple luminary headlining, all-star exhibitor list and laundry list of
seminars, this show is an increasingly important event
The Macintosh Business Expo, which is being sponsored by Apple, Adobe, Epson and
Corel, and presented by The Computer Store, will be held this year in the very shadow
of the evil empire (i.e. Seattle). This one-day event is being held Thursday, October
3rd at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center.
Admission is free with registration and the keynote by John Brandon (vice president,
Americas and Asia-Pacific, Apple) is slated to start at 8:30am sharp. If you plan on
attending, get to the venue early as seating is limited and the hall will fill to
capacity quickly.
The exhibition floor will open at the conclusion of the keynote and this year's show
will quite naturally feature an extensive business solution pavilion, as well as a
digital video and gaming pavilions. Additionally, 41 individual seminars by the
industry's leading software vendors -- including a resurgent Corel, M$, Adobe, MYOB,
etc. -- are scheduled throughout the day.
At the Sales Pavilion, it's easy for show attendees to purchase all of the cool stuff
available at the event. Special discounts and one day only pricing are will be on tap
throughout the day.
Lastly, expo goers can enter prize drawings with prizes awarded every hour -- over a
hundred prizes in all -- including a flat panel iMac.
Editor's note: This biannual event (the Spring 2003 show will be held in May in
Portland) will grow in importance because of Apple's increasing focus on business and
enterprise solutions. It would be very, very appropriate if Brandon made a new/updated
product or other major announcement. Refreshed PowerBooks, iBooks and iMacs (Hon Hai
reportedly has won a contract for 19-inch LCD iMacs) are all possibilities, as is
Apple's Xserve RAID. Surprise us!
