Apple releases 'celebrity' switch ads

Testimonials by Kelly Slater, Tony Hawk and DJ Qbert are designed to sate your regular
vicarious coolness needs
Apple has posted a trio of "celebrity" Switch ads that feature pro-surfer Kelly
Slater, skateboard-legend Tony and scratch-DJ DJ Qbert. From making music that rocks
the world to producing ready-to-publish DVD video "in a about an hour" (Slater), the
mothership is tapping the cachet of some of its hippest users.
These latest ads follow the musical and editorial style of previous user missives.
However, Hawk and Slater's pieces include video that they captured and edited using
Apple software and hardware.
Additionally, the mothership has also outed a pair of switch testimonials featuring
"ordinary" people -- Gianni Jacklone, an IT Director (this guy just oozes New York);
and Richard Ziskin, an umbrella manufacturer.
For some reason, Apple has placed the celebrity ad clips at the bottom of the Switch
Ads page, so you'll need to scroll down to find them.
Ooops....
Earlier we reported that Hawk's love missive to the Mac was posted on his company's
(Birdhouse Skateboards) website for a short time before being removed. I wonder if
"Mr." Hawk received a standard "cease and desist" letter that you or I would have
gotten had it been us that posted the clip?
