MacMinute: M$ to offer USB drive, Office promo
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
October 31st 2002

Pay full price for Redmond's benchmark productivity suite and get a 128MB USB pocket
drive

MacMinute reports that M$' Macintosh Business Unit will offering a special Office v. X
promotion from November 1, 2002 until January 5, 2003. Consumers who purchase full and
upgrade versions of Microsoft Office v. X will receive a free 128 MB Fujifilm USB
Drive ($150 SRP, $90 from PC Mall).

A quick check of the MacBU's Office special offers page revealed no mention of the
offer.

Aside from the yawning gap between the $150 (i.e. the value M$ assigns to this deal)
and the street price (i.e. $60), the downside of this offer is that it cannot be
combined with the company's Office Party promotion, which offers the productivity
suite for $199 when together with a new Mac.
