Apple 'Curriculum Labs' to ed offerings

All-in-one carts that are set up to help students learn specific course material

In conjunction with the release of faster/cheaper iBooks (more info here), Apple has
also launched Curriculum Mobile Labs -- complete (network, printer, course software,
etc) solutions.

Purchase of these on-the-go educational tools include Apple Professional Development
courses and a variety of accessories to create a powerful tool designed to meet the
education goals specified by the No Child Left Behind Act (a US Federal Govt measure
designed to boost educational performance).

The components in each Curriculum Mobile Lab include research-based software programs
that adhere to curriculum standards, assessment tools to track student performance and
professional development for teachers to ensure that the technology is used
effectively in the classroom.

Preconfigured labs now available include:
 Early Literacy: PreK-3
 Language: KAdult
 Math: K6
 Math: 612
 Science: 612
 Mobile Digital Media Studio
 iBook Wireless Mobile Lab

Because Curriculum Mobile Labs are portable and feature wireless networking, they can
easily be brought into any classroom, immediately turning it into a computer lab. That
means more students can experience the benefits of technology-based learning.
Additionally, schools can save on technology costs and regain valuable school space by
converting dedicated computer labs back into classrooms.

Editor's note: Turnkey solutions -- ie little or no set up or integration -- are a key
selling point for cash-strapped educational institutions as they save money and time.
Moreover, given the successes of 'iBooks for Students' in Maine and Virginia (sorry,
link unavailable), this product line looks to be a winner from the get to.
