X-quest: Back it up to boot!
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

Make bootable copies of your X start-up drive fast and easy sans the command line

Qdea has announced that Synchronize! Pro X 2.0, the company's quick and easy back up
and archiving application, is now available. Synchronize! Pro X is specifically
engineered for X and takes advantage of the modern properties of the OS, including
pre-emptive multitasking and supporting the full capabilities of the file system (ie
255-character Unicode file names and X file permissions).

Using Synchronize Pro, files are copied at the maximum speed possible, using
pre-emptive multitasking to full advantage. It makes bootable backups of OS X system
disks, without logging in as "root."

New features in this version include:
 Added the ability to make a bootable backup without having to log in as root;
 Added a verify function whereby files and folders can be verified either
independently or after they are copied during a synchronization or backup;
 Added verify options that lists results in the Log;
 Folder modification dates are now copied, which makes the modification date of
packages appear correctly in the Finder; and
 The Log has been redesigned to eliminate startup delays and to handle very large log
files efficiently.

In addition to backing up boot volumes, this is an excellent way for VARs and techs to
make ready-to-use volumes for installation on new and/or serviced Macs.
