Video iPod rumors reach a crescendo
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
January 6th 2003

Reuters, eWeek, iPoding and others are predicting Apple will loose "video to go"

In an unusual story for the normally staid wire service, Reuters is predicting that
Apple will announce a "video iPod" at this week's Macworld San Francisco. Were this
not enough, a host of the usual rumor suspects -- Mac OS Rumors, , iPoding -- are also
reporting the same.

However, lest you let your hopes rise too high, the Reuters piece includes some
standard mainstream media wackiness -- ie 'Is Apple considering dumping IBM for
Intel?' without mentioning that Moto is the company's primary chip supplier. So, given
this tenuous grasp of reality, we should take the Reuters' story, as well as the rumor
mongers whisperings, with a very large grain of salt.

We reported previously an iPod with a color screen could be on tap. This is another
rumor that crops up with "whack-a-mole" regularity.
