Whispers outs new Apple display line

A new rumor site steps up to the plate with prices, specs for unannounced desktop LCDs
from the mothership
MacWhispers, a new player in the always turbulent rumors game, has posted what it
claims are the sizes and prices for new desktop LCD monitors from Apple that are
"expected within no more than 45 days."
Quoting unnamed "OEM sources," MacWhispers writes the new monitors will ship with
Apple-Display Connectors, tilt and height adjustability, and "award-quality"
ergonomics.
Specifically, the site claims the mothership is preparing to launch the following:
? 23-inch - 1920x1200 - $2999.00
? 20.1-inch - 1600x1024 - $1799.00
? 17.0-inch - 1440x900 - $799.00
All three displays are said to be made of gleaming crystalline transparent plastics
and chrome.
A PowerBook update
MacWhispers also claims that Taiwan's Chi Mei OptoElectronics has been contracted by
Apple to manufacture a 15.4-inch LCD panel for use in an upcoming revision of its now
"mid-size" PowerBook product line.
Editor's note: Hail the newcomer! Here's hoping these "expected within no more than 45
days" monitors will come to market in the company of freshly minted PowerMacs.
