Judge: Microsoft anti-trust deal an 'extreme error'
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
April 1st 2003
April Fools' Day report by OScast hits a nerve. If only it were true!
OScast has posted a report that were it not for today's date might give heart to a
great many people. Here's a quote:
"U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who oversaw the settlement between
Microsoft and the U.S. Department of Justice, issued a formal statement to the public
and press earlier today, stating that the acceptance of the MS/DOJ settlement was a
ruling made with extreme error."
In this pointed tongue-in-check April 1 missive, OScast "quotes" Kollar-Kotelly as
saying, "I am coming forward now to correct this gross injustice and to state that a
remedy, not a settlement will be issued immediately and will be issued by myself along
with former US District Judge, Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson."
OSCast's report is well done and definitely worth reading. Read the "full story" of
Microsoft's much-deserved fall from grace here.
Editor's note: Can you "one up" OScast's April Fools' Day story? How would you improve
their send up? Or, do you have an invention of your own that's even better?
