If I was a top poster & I needed Dan's help & advice, I'd probably heed your
advice.
Do whatever you want. I was simply saying that he's knowledgeable, he
does apparently filter people who annoy him, and if you want help of a
technical nature, it's best to follow convention used for getting
attention on the list. It seemed like sensible advice. I don't really
care if you follow it or not. Do whatever the hell you want. Nothing
said here as a point is going to change your mind. This same damn
argument is made periodically and it makes not a lick of difference to
anybody.
Except when someone like David Herren thinks it's funny to tell someone
to go back to having major surgery and possibly dying just to make a
flippant and probably to him hilarious retort, which I found outrightly
offensive. So yeah, that can make a difference. Everyone can just go
right back to the rock they belong under. I for one don't think such
degenerate behavior is called for on a list where technology people are
supposed to go for help, and if that's the mentality then I should take
a break from it. It's good to see that this list is alive and well with
a schoolyard mentality.
Kind regards, now leave me alone.
